My inquiry that guided my sustained investigation was: what effect does Hollywood have on the emotional wellbeing of the insiders? Each individual project relates to each other in that they symbolize different hardships & challenges that come with being a part of this industry. For example "Pressure & Expectations" and "Overdose" both show how drug/alcohol addiction is very common due to access, trends, and mental health. "Picture Perfect" shows how one can be affected by unrealistic appearance expectations. "Land of Broken Dreams", "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", and "Oscar" show that it's not all glitz and glam; It's very stressful, toxic, and time-consuming. "Hush Hush" shows how being rich and famous can get one what they want and out of what they don't want. "The Show Goes On" shows that these actors are real people and not just their on-screen persona. This was a journey full of hard work, determination, and overcoming obstacles. For instance, My first project ended up costing a lot of money so I had to revise my original plan and create a similar concept using the materials I had. I choose to focus on Hollywood because there are many layers to it. I wanted to break down the different layers using each of my projects to show the reality of what we fantasize about.
