Dali's Inspiration 

  • Dali was inspired by Pablo Picasso 

  • He started off with cubism which then led to surrealism

Dali's Process 

  • Dali used the "paranoiac-critical method” 

  • That involved creating a self-induced paranoid state 

  • He would also fall asleep holding a spoon above a tin plate; once the spoon hit the plate he would start drawing

  • He would stand on his head until almost passing out to become “semi - lucid”

My Surrealist Bust 

     NOTE: Project is still in progress.

  • My project is a human whose skin was peeled in certain parts of the face to reveal the skull and muscle tissue. 

  • My project was inspired by surrealist work. My inspiration is that although what you perceive day to day is the outside of someone’s body, I wanted to incorporate the other aspects of the body which equally exist but are unseen to the human eye.
